Join Watauga Global Community
We want students who fit well with Watauga, who enjoy being involved with friends and faculty in an academic exploration. You know yourself much better than we know you, so you’re the best person to determine how well you and the program fit together. The following steps will help you reach a good decision:
- Thoroughly review all of the material on this web site so that you have an understanding of what Watauga is, what we expect of our students, and what you can expect of us.
- Please take a look at some Frequently Asked Questions about Watauga Global Community.
- Call or email us if you have additional questions, or if you'd like to meet with us and our current students. You are welcome to join a class or two and have lunch with all the freshmen.
- Contact a current Wataugan if you’d like to hear a student perspective.
Please Note: Watauga Global Community is a part of Appalachian State University. All students must be accepted to Appalachian State to participate in Watauga. You are encouraged to apply to Watauga before hearing of your acceptance to Appalachian. If you are accepted into Watauga, a place will be held for you pending your acceptance to Appalachian. For more information, see the Appalachian State University Admissions web page.
If, after careful consideration, you believe Watauga Global Community is the place for you, follow the instructions below. Watauga is limited to 90 freshmen, and we usually fill very quickly.
To join Watauga, please complete this questionnaire [download pdf] [download Word doc], which serves as our application. Submit the application by following the instructions on the form or simply save it and email as an attachment to David Huntley huntleyde@appstate.edu.
